Rudolph's Romp
|
"Rudolph's Romp" is an East Yorkshire LDWA challenge walk, which was most recently run on Saturday 6 December 2025. The 25 mile route from Brantingham is EYLDWA's traditional end-of-year challenge over the scenic Yorkshire Wolds - a classic route that provides a full mix of woodland, hill, and dale, with sweeping views of the Vale of York & the River Humber.
After 31 outings, Rudolph is taking a one year sabbatical in 2026, with plans to return refreshed on Saturday 4 December 2027. Anyone disappointed by this one year absence, is invited to undertake the Romp as a temporary "anytime challenge". A route description and gpx file are attached > RD and GPX East Yorkshire LDWA Group takes no responsibility for any mishaps that may occur. In particular, please note that this route has not been recced since November 2025. Badges and certificates for completing within 10 hours are available at a cost of £5, which includes postage. Cheques can be made payable to "LDWA East Yorkshire Section" or bank details can be requested if you prefer to pay by bank transfer. Walkers should submit a brief report (i.e. date walked, time taken, weather conditions etc) for record-keeping purposes, either:
Badges and certificates will only be dispatched after payment has cleared and the walk report has been logged. Alternatively, for 2026 only, you can download a blank certificate free of charge at Cert and complete it manually. |
