Scarborough Rock

"Scarborough Rock" is an East Yorkshire LDWA challenge walk, which was most recently run on Saturday 10 January 2026. On event day, walkers could choose to do 16 or 26 miles from Scalby Parish Hall, Scarborough. The routes take in the coast through Scarborough, Oliver's Mount, moorland, Hackness, Burniston and Scalby.
Both the 16 and 26 mile routes can now be undertaken as "anytime challenges". East Yorkshire LDWA Group takes no responsibility for any mishaps that may occur. In particular, please note that this route has not been recced since January 2026. Badges and certificates for completing within 12 hours are available at a cost of £5, which includes postage. Cheques can be made payable to "LDWA East Yorkshire Section" or bank details can be requested if you prefer to pay by bank transfer. Walkers should submit a brief report (i.e. date walked, short or long route, time taken, weather conditions etc) for record-keeping purposes, either:
