To mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of Winnie the Pooh the 2026 100 visits the Ashdown Forest and some of the places mentioned in the stories: Pooh Sticks Bridge, The Enchanted Place, 100 Acre Wood and Eeyore's Gloomy Place. The route starts at Meopham in the North Downs of Kent, climbs over the Greensand Ridge into the not so hilly Weald to cross into Sussex to explore the Ashdown Forest - more hilly heathland than a forest of trees. The route then turns back through the Weald to the hills of the Greensand Ridge and North Downs again.

So hills-respite-hills-respite-hills adds up to 11250ft of ascent but unlike in higher country (the highest point being a footbridge over the M20 at 738ft) there will be no stumbling over rugged rocks, the local sheep having grazed it to nice and easy underfoot. Less than 17 of the miles will be on country lanes or other roads but it's not going to rain so all those fields and woods won't be muddy! Included are parts of Wealdway, Greensand Way, Sussex Diamond Way, Sussex Border Path, High Weald Landscape Trail, Tandridge Border Path, Eden Valley Walk, Darent Valley Path and North Downs Way promoted long distance paths.
