Route
Meet at Pevensey & Westham station BN24 5ND (limited parking otherwise street parking nearby) for 08.28 train to Battle (arr 9.06). Any attempt to meet us at Battle is AT YOUR OWN RISK as walk may not be able to start at Battle if train is cancelled, and return train may not arrive!
Linear walk from Battle following the 1066 route from Battle of Hastings site to Pevensey Castle via classic Wealden hilly scenery and then over the Pevensey Levels. If no Southern trains are running in the morning then an alternative circular walk from Pevensey & Westham station will be organized.
Lunch stop - the Woolpack in Herstmonceux.
