LDWA Sussex Loops 2025 – Event Report for 3rd August
It was a bright day with some cloud, a maximum temperature of 20 degC and no rain.
198 people were registered with 163 turning up on the day. Everyone finished within the time limit with 52 changing their distance on the day.
As for the Loops themselves, the South Loop was unchanged from 2024 but the West and North Loops modified to 13 and 6 miles respectively allowing us to drop the checkpoint on the North Leg. The route changes proved popular with the participants who though both modified routes had better views and paths.
Freshfield Hall in Forest Row is a good venue for the event although it has limited toilet facilities and Forest Row, limited parking.
Both Friend’s Clump and Sharpthorne Checkpoints worked well with drinks and snacks appreciated by all. We were grateful to Kent LDWA who supported the first CP.
The post event feedback from the participants was very positive, particularly for the Volunteers with one walker stating ‘’The walk was lovely and there was such a great atmosphere around the whole event.’’
