Dogs Policy
As a group we have generally welcomed dogs on our social walks and would like to continue to be dog friendly (especially to any assistance dogs). But due to the frequent movement of livestock in our area; in practice all our walks will be 'near livestock or in an area where livestock may reasonably be present'. We also wish to keep the administrative burden to a minimum for our walk leaders. Thus Sussex LDWA policy on dogs on social walks will now be:
- All dogs must be kept on a short lead for the entire walk
- Proof of pet owners liability insurance must be sent in advance of the walk to Sussex LDWA chair
- The walk leader must be informed in advance if you wish to bring a dog, it is completely at their discretion as to whether any dogs are allowed at all, or whether at the start or at any time during the walk that they require you and your dog to leave the group
