Sunday 4th August 2024 LDWA Sussex Loops - 12, 22 or 31 miles with up to 3,250ft of accent, in 11 hours max.

Consisting of 3 loops from Forest Row Village Hall and exploring the surrounding countryside including the Ashdown Forest

PARKING.  There is no parking adjacent to the Hall.  Nearby are 2 free public car parks:  Lower Rd off Station Rd, RH18 5HE & Hartfield Rd, RH18 5JZ. 
 
THE ROUTE.
The route is comprised of three loops, from Forest Row Village Hall.
The South Loop – the Ashdown Forest – c12 miles.
The North Loop  – the Cansiron Loop – c10 miles.
The West Loop   – the Rural Loop – c9 miles.
 
PARTICIPANTS.
Runners welcome.
ALL participants will undertake the South Loop.  Upon completion, within the time limit, participants may undertake EITHER the North Loop OR the North Loop followed by the West Loop. All loops will have a Clip Points.
 
REGISTRATION.  From 08:00 for Walkers. From 09:00 for Runners
START. 08:00 - 09:00 for Walkers. 09:00 - 10:00 for Runners
FINISH. All participants to be finished by 19:00.  Certificates will be presented to all entrants who finish within the time limit. A badge will be available
ENTRY. Entry limit is 200. No entries on the day.
ROUTE DESCRIPTION. Separate route descriptions and GPX files will be provided for each loop and will be available to be downloaded from this website before the end of July. All participants MUST carry a printed route description.
REFRESHMENTS.  Light food and hot & cold drinks will be available at the village hall.  Participants will be expected to carry their own mug.
RESULTS. Results will be posted on the LDWA website.
 
THE RULES
The LDWA Sussex Loops is open to walkers and runners who must be over 18 years of age on the day of the event.
Membership of the LDWA is not required.
No entries on the day.
Sorry, no dogs except assistance dogs.
The closing times of each loop and will be strictly adhered to.
To qualify for a certificate all entrants must finish within the 11 hours  time limit and have been passed through all the check and/or clip points in the correct order. 
Retirements must be made at the Village Hall. If a retiree is unable to reach the Village Hall they should call the emergency phone number provided. The Village Hall marshals will have the right to retire any      entrant who they consider to be unfit to continue, irrespective of time. Transport back to the start will be provided for retirees.
The weather can change quickly so dress accordingly.
All entrants should carry maps to cover the whole route (OS Landranger 187 & 188 or Explorer 135). Please note – a paper route description must be carried by each entrant even if walking in a group, or if the route description  is on an electronic device – sufficient batteries must be carried for 15 hours. Failure to carry a route description may mean that (a) you are not covered by the LDWA Public Liability Insurance and (b) that you will be disqualified.
