Car park in Bavelaw Road, Balerno put EH14 7AA into your satnav & that will take you to Scotmid Co-op, on the left along Bavelaw Road - the c.P (which is free) is on the right, just before the shop
We start with some road walking to a nice wooded track leading into the Pentland Hills Regional Park. We then go to Glencorse Reservoir & turn right to follow Logan Burn (stopping by the coffee shop), before climbing 1899ft Scald Law, the highest of all the Pentland Hills. We then climb the neighbouring tops of South Black Hill, East Kip & West Kip, where from all of them we should get extensive views. We then descend & start to head back, diverting to visit another Top – Hare Hill, which has three cairns on its summit – and then g past Threipmuir & Harlaw reservoirs to retrace our steps to Balerno
