Meet point is at main entrance to Chatelherault Country Park, visitor centre, at 9am. Postcode is
ML3 7UE & is just a short distance from Junction 7 of M74. There are several rlwy stn within walking distance, & indeed, Hamilton Central is passed on route ( if doing the 11 miles). Ample free c.p, café & toilets. Facilities may not open until 10am so best not to rely on them for start of walk. PLEASE LET WALK LEADER KNOW IN ADVANCE IF YOU ARE COMING
The walk is primarily on decent paths around the park, but expect some muddy sections. If weather is dire or folks want to cut walk short then there are ample opportunities to do that. Trail includes several short sharp inclines, with ascent of approximately 625ft, 600 ft of descent.
Duration will be approx 4:30 - 4:45 hours including breaks
General Notes
The Visitor Centre has a cafe but bring a packed lunch if you want to be certain of getting something to eat
