(This shorter walk will include a 2 hour guided tour of some prehistoric sites at Down Farm near Sixpenny Handley, including the Dorset Cursus, & a visit to the remarkable archaeological museum. Historical artifacts found in the area date from the Palaeolithic to the Romano-British period & reflect the importance of this location for thousands of years. Down Farm is managed to promote biodiversity & a remarkable number of plants / insects / birds can be seen. The tour will be led by Martin Green, archaeologist & owner of the farm, & will cost £10 per head.
