Starting from the DWT Car Park the first few miles will be familiar to anyone who has done the Cerne Giant, descending to the iconic Lyscombe Chapel on to Higher Melcombe and the Dorsetshire Gap before descending to Folly (this part might be and then UP to Ball Hill and Church Hill for a morning break (with the fabled, within Dorset LDWA folklore, glimpses of Glastonbury Tor - not guaranteed !). We then cross the Giant route between Alton Pancras and Plush to descend to the Piddle Valley walking on good tracks along the valley past Piddletrenthide with lunch break at Piddlehinton.
