Walk Report
The Recreation Ground car park in Alston which we have used in the past due to it's position on the edge of town and it's quietness was unfortunately unavailable on the day due to a car boot sale. We therefore had to park on street outside the recreation ground, well laid plans and all that. A figure of eight type walk from Alston. This gave walkers and opportunity to choose a shorter option if they liked, about 17 miles, which just under half of the group did. We were very fortunate with the weather. Rain was forecast for the morning, cloud for the afternoon. We actually had cloud in the morning and lovely sunshine in the afternoon. Some of us found ourselves appreciably overdressed for the afternoon sunshine and warmth. Thanks once again to Julie, Michelle and Rachael for preparing and leading this walk. Paul NellistOther Files
