Just when you thought it was safe to go out for a flat walk, Alan Edwards pops up, with a right good hill climber, a sort of ‘Dark Peak Rollercoaster’ as he puts it. 18ml, 4,000' and seven tops amidst the Hayfield skyline guarantees sustainable exercise, with the help of some sustenance, of course; great scenery - clouds permitting - and true satisfaction at the end of the day. The 7 summits are: Mount Famine, South Head, Eccles Pike, Cracken Edge, Lantern Pike, Hollingworth Head and Middle Moor. Phew! This promises to be a little cracker…another one!
