Lakeside c.p. (p+d, £3.00/N.T. members free) Studley Royal Deer Park, Studley Roger, near Ripon, North Yorkshire

This new route, from Mark Reid - the Inn Way man - is a journey of pure pleasure and fascination, as it attempts to trace The Studley Royal Picturesque Circuit, created by the ideological Picturesque Movement, in the mid 18th century. Hackfall, with all of its many landscaped features still intact, is undoubtedly the highlight, but either side of this gem is much to savour, in Aldfield Spa, Galphay, Braithwaite Hall, Kirkby Malzeard, Grewelthorpe, Witch of the Woods House and the Studley Royal Estate

General Notes
Ripon and Fountains Abbey create a wonderful opportunity for a weekend away
