Start/finish in Carlton in Coverdale, considerate parking in the village
This route is a toughie. We ascend the summit of Pen Hill, then crossing Carlton Moor we head for Little Whernside, walking along high pasture to Scar House reservoir joining the Nidderdale way. We then head towards the summit of great Haw via Woogill Moor. We then head towards West Scrafton before returning to Carlton. This is a beautiful but boggy walk so please prepare appropriately
