Walk Report
The 12 mile walk began at Pluscarden Abbey, with a short steep climb at the start and a walk through the Monoghty Woods, including a stretch of the path walked in our 50 mile challenge walk. We followed forestry tracks up to the ridge, where we had a wee coffee stop in the sunshine! The ridge had views to the north and south, with the track covered in snow, making the walking harder than usual. From the other end of the ridge we then followed paths, zig-zagging down the hill, to join the road at the bottom, finding out on the way that Dave had become a Grandad a few months ago! After a short stretch on the road we crossed to the other side of the valley for a secluded picnic stop in the woods. After a late lunch we walked behind Pluscarden House, and all had a peer into the walled garden, before walking up the track, past cattle in the field, to Redavie barns, and out onto the road. We followed the road down the Hill of the Wangie to the church, and back to the Abbey. It was a chilly walk, with snow on the ground, but also sunshine and good company.Other Files
