Mileage: 16.5 with cut-offs
Weather: lovely sunny day.
After leaving Carperby, we headed towards Bolton Castle via Low Gate and Intake Plantation. We then headed up to the moors via Black Hill, turned left along a grouse shooters track to Collier Gate. We dined at Greenhow Hut. 3 completed the 10 mile route and returned to Carperby by Peatmoor Lane. Those remaining crossed Carperby Moor and along Beldhow Hill to cross the top of Ivy Scar (great views). 3 more left us here 12.5 miles and headed back to Carperby. The remainder of us carried on along Oxclose Road, turned left to Woodhall and back to Carperby via The Straights, this completed our 16.5 miles.
