Sat 22nd Oct 2022

Walk Details:

Event Type
Group Walk
Region / Area
Wales / South Wales
Local Group
South Wales
Distance
23ml.
Start Time
08.30
Route
Talgarth car park, SO15303372 (Please use this longer grid reference to find the starting location, the grid reference field can only take 8 characters and does not give enough accuracy to locate the car park.) (It is advisable to arrive 10 minutes before the meet/start time)

Combining the best bits of two previous Talgarth walks. We will visit the 'friendless' St Ellyw's Church (and its whipping tree) and Rhos Fach common, before ascending Y Grib en route to Waun Fach. We then descent to the hamlet of Waun Fach to traverse Mynydd Troed prior to our return to Talgarth via Pwll-y-Wrach nature reserve

General Notes
Some long and steep climbs, combining to approaching 5,000ft of overall ascent, will test the legs and lungs. Graded as hard with around 5,000 feet of ascent
