Route
Stages 10 and 11. Cliviger Gorge (GR SD895267) to Edenfield (GR SD800181) via Whitworth. 16.5 miles - 7 hours walking – 2,079ft of ascent. Great moorland walking along the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire and Greater Manchester to the most SE point in Lancashire – the village of Whitworth. Then it is up and over Rooley and Scout Moor into Edenfield near Ramsbottom - mainly on the Rossendale Way. Meet at public car park for Townley Hall – entrance near to junction of A671 and A674 (GR SD850306) Free parking on the main road in the layby. Take half of the cars to the Ratten Clough Car Park as per last week – 10 minute drive. Walk to Edenfield. Catch bus service 483 very near to the Duckworth Arms in Edenfield – frequent service, which takes us back to Townley – bus stop on A671 just after the layby. Recover the cars.
