Walk Report
Saturday 4th January 2020 - An Early Blow Cleveland LDWA met at Square Corner at 9.00am for “Another Blow” to chase the cobwebs away after the Christmas/New Year festivities. We were well rewarded with a bumper turn out from our own Group, along with Denis & Martin from Cumbria Group and one non-member from the area, 17 in total. After walking along the road for approx. half mile we turned on the bridleway to Dale Head then onto Lower Locker Moor where underfoot conditions proved to be quite testing in places. After a short uphill road section we joined the footpath at Plain Tree Farm and were rewarded with stunning views across the dale, it was turning out to be a cracking walking day with light cooling breeze, watery sun and long range views. Our first break was taken close to Hagg House Farm, and then we continued onto the Hawnby Road before turning off towards Harker Gates, Delicar Bridge, and then High Buildings after which we joined The Cleveland Way to arrive back at our cars around 3pm, having walked 15miles with approx. 2000’ of ascent. Thanks to everyone who turned up for the walk, hope you all had a good day. Albert Bowes.Other Files
