The walk is approximately 11 miles and is mostly flat, following part of the Lancashire Coastal Way, taking in various points of interest, including the Port of Glasson Dock, the ruins of Premonstratensian Cockersands Abbey and the junction of the Lancaster Canal with the Glasson branch
