General Notes

I'm helping my daughter Mel train for a challenge event and as part of that we will be doing the 17-mile route (cut to 15 miles if weather is hot) from the 2011 Shillington Shuffle next Thursday, June 19. Moderate paced walk, probably averaging around 2.8 mph. Start 9.30 from the entrance to Barton Village Hall (park in nearby street). Lunch stop at the 10-mile point outside Motte & Bailey pub in Pirton. LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
