Walk Report

Unlucky with the weather again - another walk report from Bill Dunn.

Seven o'clock, and it was cold and raining heavily. My first thought was to climb back into bed: no one in their right mind would be walking today. I was still thinking this as I drove to the meeting point, but was amazed as I pulled up to see a large gathering getting togged up in waterproofs. I recognised a few familiar faces and there were two people, Sherry and Tristan, on their first LDWA walk. There were 18 of us all together for the 17-mile walk. It snowed most of the way. We were lucky that the pub we reached around lunchtime had an external covered BBQ area where we could shelter to eat our lunch and drink hot tea/coffee. Thanks to leader Duncan for another well-organised walk.

Bill Dunn.
