Social walks in Wales

Posted on 2020-11-03

On 02.11.20, First Minister Drakeford outlined the new rules that residents of Wales will need to follow when the current national lockdown ends on 09.11.20. Groups of 30 people will be able to gather outdoors again and this means that Local Group walks in Wales will be able to recommence from that date. Risk assessments for each walk will not have to be completed but the National Executive Committee (NEC) recommends that they are completed as by doing so demonstrates due diligence. The new rules in Wales do mean that only residents in the Principality will be able to walk on the Local Group walks that are organised and the moratorium on travel in the Principality will be reviewed when the national lockdown in England is due to come to an end on 02.12.20.

In order to comply with the insurer’s requirements and in order to assist with any COVID Track & Trace enquiry, Local Groups must continue to upload details of walk attendees to the LDWA server once the walk has taken place.

Thank you for bearing with the NEC during these difficult times.
