The Great Chalk Way is a family of established walking and riding routes linking the Dorset and Norfolk Coasts across central southern England following the ancient trading route along the chalk ridge, forming a coast to coast route of around 400 miles. The Great Chalk Way is promoted by a working group representing the family of routes that make up the Great Chalk Way. This includes representatives from each of the routes, Wessex Ridgeway, Cranborne Droves Way, Sarsen Way, Ridgeway National Trail, Icknield Way and the Peddars Way National Trail. In addition it has representatives from the equestrian, mountain biking and walking communities.
