Nokia Sportstracker will also let you output your route in various formats for loading into other software packages. If you have Google Earth you might like to try the files I've put online at ...

I'm just feeling my way in these areas, so if you have any tips or advice I'd be grateful.

Last year I upgraded my Nokia N73 to an N95 8Gb. I also have a small Nokia GPS unit which bluetooth'd to the N73; the N95 has GPS built in.
Nokia have released a FREE piece of software which runs on a whole range of phones and which records routes, speed, ascent etc. It lets you upload the results to a communal website. It would not replace by Garmin Fortrex wrist-mounted device, which can tell me where I am and where I might go next. The Nokia measures performance in microsteps. It works well from inside a rucksack pocket. (Garfield)
