The soundtrack could feature Gene Pitney's Twenty Four Hours From Telford. For the Northumbria 100, of course: Bobby Vee's The Night Has A Thousand Pies.

I've been experimenting with uploading short video clips of our Events onto U tube.

I've bought a cheap video camera of a type that is becoming available or less than £100, mine was £60, and are very basic but are small and easy to use. I have used this to take clips of the views along our Housman 100 route and I have edited them using the Movie Maker application in MS Vista. Again this is simple almost intuitive software but does the job. I then created an account on Utube and uploaded the video clip, of 4 minutes duration, and it can be viewed on Utube by entering Housman100 in the search button.

My intention is to create interest in the event, even if it is 3 years distant, by giving foresight of the landscape and views along the way.

I would welcome comment and views on this way of creating interest in events. Oh! And for film buffs out there what movie titles would be appropriate for such efforts either taken directly from iconic mainstream films, or slightly varied?
And so:
(No) Country for Old Men
Walk the Line
Long Way Round
(28 days) 48 Hours later
Loneliness of the long distance walker

You get the idea?
