Thanks Norfolk and Suffolk for a lovely walk, as Rebecca said, it is a long way from the Midlands but the scenery/hospitality makes it worthwhile. The variation proved a little challenging, hope to be there next year.

Hi Mike. Never done the Dovedale Dipper before as I have done quite a few challenge walks in the Peak district. 6 Dales circuit is a good on in November. As regards going to events further afield such as the poppyline, I wonder if there could be some way of sharing lifts and splitting petrol costs within local groups etc? As a lot of members of the LDWA are retired maybe the cost of getting to events such as the poppyilne is an issue? It was a 360m round trip which isn't cheap even when you work full time.

Hi Chris Hi Rebecca, commiserations with the injury and regarding other events which clash with yours Chris I did the Dovedale Dipper yesterday. There were 332 entrants and 314 starters so you may have lost some to this event. A well organised walk in beautiful countryside for runners and walkers alike, with profits going to BHF. And thanks to Norman C and Cover Girl Chris for your company.

Thank you for the kind comments. All who walked at the weekend seemed to enjoy the event. We get low and high numbers in alternate years (this was a low year) and if anyone knows of a clash of events I'd like to know! The results are available on our website at http://www.c2.dsl.pipex.com/nsldwa/P50Results05.pdf

Just a quick message to thank the organisers for yet again a wonderful well organised walk in beautiful countryside. The food was excellent, and the route varied and interesting.Unfortunatley due to an injury we didn't complete this year, but didn't detract from what was a super day's walk.I believe numbers were down from last year which is a shame as I have done this walk twice before and find it well worth the trip from the midlands.Well done Norfolk and suffolk LDWA and all their helpers.

I don't want to open up the Standard Entry Form (SEF) debate, just a plea; a SEF is only acceptable if stated for an event. If it isn't stated then please don't use them; download the real entry form. It isn't any harder, doesn't cost any more in postage etc, and does give you important information about the event. Using a SEF for an event which doesn't accept them just creates work and delays entry.

The Poppyline Fifty has a new route for this year. For details and entry form see our website (http://www.ldwa.org.uk/NorfolkandSuffolk). A warm welcome to all those who have not yet ventured into Norfolk to try the event and to our regulars. There's also a new T-shirt with the new route (design on the website) for the collectors ;-)
