Not a challenge event as such, but a ranger-led (Peak Park, Cheshire County and Macclesfield Borough) walk of 20-odd miles along the first (hilly) half of this LDP. Starting from Buxton, this quickly rises to the moortop source of one of the Peak District's major rivers, which is then closely followed through some of the finest countryside the Dark Peak has to offer, down to Congleton (where this event finished). The Way then continues across the Cheshire Plain to Middlewich, staying as close to the river as public access allows (I'll finish it under my own steam some time soon).

Well done to the three organisations concerned for putting on an ambitious event of this nature. Hopefully, the success on the day (not in the least marred by occasional drizzle and one dowmpour) - thirty people took part; it was oversubscribed - will encourage them to lay on further long-distance events in the future.
