Question: I had a valid entry into Y100 Sir Fynwy in 2020 why can't I get automatic entry into 2021 event?

Answer: One of the many items that emerged out of last years AGM Hundreds workshop was that of transparency and fairness should ballot draws ever be required in future hundreds. The categories were reduced in number accordingly. Standard entry rules will apply in 2021 and no one will secure automatic entry. However, these are exceptional times. I sought and gained permission from the NEC to amend the rules relating to the ballot draw as outlined below.

Existing Rule
6.2 Entries will be grouped into the following categories for the ballot:
1. LDWA Member helping on the forthcoming 100 Marshals event and qualified.
2. LDWA Member who is qualified.
Amended Rule
6.2 Entries will be grouped into the following categories for the ballot:
1. LDWA Member helping on the forthcoming 100 Marshals event and qualified.
2. LDWA Member who had a valid entry to Y 100 Sir Fynwy at the point of cancellation at 2100 hrs on 16 Mar 2020.
3. LDWA Member who is qualified.

The rationale for the amendment to the existing rule is due to the fact that 2020 Y 100 Sir Fynwy entrants have only been partially refunded their entry fee and are out of pocket by £20. In addition, many of the entrants will be out of pocket as some accommodation will have been cancelled and in some cases the deposits paid by members has not been returned. In order to value and support those entrants who entered Y 100 Sir Fynwy,

There is a possibility that Y 100 Sir Fynwy might attract entries from people who did not enter the 2020 event. Y 100 Sir Fynwy had 440 entries on the date that Rule 7.1 was invoked, and so there are still 110 places to apply for as we always accept up to a maximum of 550 entries knowing that 10% will drop off in the months prior to the event being held.
