I did the Marshals' walk yesterday and it was fantastic. A really great route with some spectacular city views (and a bit of mud around Hampstead Heath to make country-dwellers feel at home). It deserves to be one of the must-do events in the calendar.

Although the 113 entries received by the closing date at midnight on 29th December exceeds our limit of 100, a ballot seemed an unnecessary response so we have invited all those 113 to pay and confirm their entry. If by 14th January less than 100 have done so we will make more places available on a first come, first served basis.

If you don't have a place but would like to participate, perhaps you would like to marshal? If so please contact us at capitalchallenge@ldwa.org.uk

This new, uniquely urban event will take place in London on 1st April 2017 starting between 8 and 9 a.m. from the BFI cafe under Waterloo Bridge on the South Bank. It celebrates some of the capital's best open spaces.

The route is 27.6 miles; the event is for walkers only and will be limited to 100 entrants.
Entries open next Monday 14th November.

If more than 100 valid entries are received by 29th December 2016, entrants will be selected by means of a ballot. Preference will be given to LDWA members. Full details of this process can be found at https://www.ldwa.org.uk/London/W/4606/2017.html and at https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?elid=Y&event_id=3002
If fewer than 100 entries are received by 29th December places will be filled on a first come, first served basis while they remain available until the final closing date on 19th February.

The London Group Committee believes that this will be an exciting addition to the LDWA calendar with surprises even for people who know London well!
