Ian,
Lakeland bought a Coleman 4.5metre * 4.5metre event shelter with 3 sides(sunwalls) for checkpoint 1 on the Red Rose Hundred. Cost around £200 from Amazon. Easy to erect once you have practised. Stability wasn't tested in the benign conditions, but should be reasonably stable.
regards
Tony

We had a committee meeting last night in preparation for the 27th running of the Durham Dales Challenge. One of our tasks this year is to buy new tents or event shelters as they seem to be known as these days, for checkpoint use. There is no shortage of these available at Go Outdoors and similar emporiums as well as online of course, in fact the choice sometimes overwhelms us all. Our priorities, probably shared by all groups, are robustness, ease of erection, and stability. Before committing to purchase I was just wondering if any groups had any recommendations - or perhaps are aware of any products we should be sure to avoid. Any suggestions welcome.
