On Channel 4 on Sunday evenings (first edition was 8pm on December 27th, repeated on 4seven Dec 28th) is a documentary account of ex-paratrooper Levison Wood's 2015 walk of the Himalayas from Afghanistan to Bhutan. The 1,700 mile and 5000m altitude walk covers seven countries including Taliban-controlled areas of Pakistan and post-earthquake Nepal.

Wood's previous expedition was his 2013 walk of the length of the Nile, also subject of a C4 documentary. That walk included a fatality, this one a serious car accident involving Wood and a companion. The first episode's hazards were less severe but included altitude sickness, sheep's eyeballs & brain, and an unsafe pass crossing.

So far at least, Wood looks surprisingly unfit and kitted out (but his gear does include crampons and gaiters). The Colin Farrell eyebrows also get some attention.
