Thank you for our first ever LDWA challenge event - very enjoyable indeed, and a great insight for us both.

We were the the last of the 27 milers arriving pretty much bang on 10hrs, after starting a few mins after everyone else.

The 'sweepers' caught up with us, although not particularly behind time, we appreciated on request to just carry on walking on our own. This meant allot to us so we could complete the challenge with our own navigation and could feel we completed the challenge without any 'assistance' as it were.

So all in a great day!
Thankyou everyone.

Aaron and team - many thanks for a wonderful day out yesterday. Much of the route was new to me (a few short sections on Round Rotherham) which is nice. Interesting to see those follies at the beginning. The extra bit on the long route was well worth it - lovely views. I was lucky to get back before the rain really started. And food was good - plenty of tea, sandwiches and special mention for liquorice allsorts at the first cp!

The marshals walk event ran very well at the weekend, 21 & 27 mile routes enjoyed by all in the sun.

The route description and all 3 GPX files are now uploaded to our website.

Come and experience some of the highlights that South Yorkshire has on offer. Historic houses, amazing follies, landscaped parkland, wonderfully varied countryside with some terrific views and of course warm Yorkshire hospitality are all included.

Entries still open (coming in thick and fast)

Available approx 4 weeks before the event on our webpage
