I also have been selected to carry the torch - in Ipswich on July 6th at 07.05. I am hoping the threatened rain will hold off as I am told the tracksuits become rather transparent when wet!

Readers may be interested to know that long-standing LDWA member Shirley Hume will be carrying the Olympic torch for all of 300 metres through Bristol at around 8.38am this Wednesday 23rd May - broadcast on http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchrelay. Presumably this is part of her training for her 30th Hundred ten days later! Are there any other LDWA members out there who are torchbearers?
LDWA is run entirely by volunteers and we work hard to keep costs as low as possible. But costs are always rising so to help us avoid big increases in our modest membership fee, additional donations are always welcomed. Anyone who feels that LDWA has gone the extra mile to provide exceptional service is particularly encouraged to use this facility.
