Just a plug for Bob Mitchell's event on Saturday 25th September. It uses the lovely area of gentle countrside at the Southern end of Coniston Water, which will be new ground for many people. The central pier of Bouthrey bridge over the River Crake was destroyed by last November's floods, cutting off the Eastern part of the original route. Bob has devised a completely new second half to the South of the lake taking in Great Burney and part of the Cumbria Way, as well as close encounters with Cumbrian industry old and new.
If you are put off by the "Kanter" reference in Strider fear not, there will be a full conventional route description.
