A meander through Constable Country from Stoke-by-Nayland via Stratford St Mary and Flatford Mill to Dedham, then following the River Stour and rolling countryside back to Stoke-by-Nayland.
Taking in two counties (Suffolk and Essex) we have two mornings stops, first at the weir at Stratford St Mary and then briefly at Flatford Mill, where ice creams and drinks can be purchased at the National Trust shop. Lunch will be at Dedham (approx 12 miles) where there are plenty of facilities - shops/cafe/pub. If open, we will pop into the church where hangs one of John Constables rare religious paintings. After lunch, we largely follow the route of the River Stour back to our cars, taking a brief stop at Rivers Hall Farm
