Kiveton Park Railway Station (free railway c.p - 16 spaces - or on-street - 200 metres down Packman Lane, on the left, just before a new housing estate, is believed to be a practical option), Kiveton, South Yorkshire S26 6PB, to catch the next train (09.00) for a 30-minute journey to Retford, with the current price set at GBP 8.30; less with a railcard. The walk starts from the front of Retford Railway Station at 09.30

Although only following the 46ml. canal for 17ml, this navigable section is of particular interest, whilst passing through an important part of Nottinghamshire's industrial heritage, via Worksop, Shireoaks and back to Kiveton Park
