Free c.p, Beacon Country Park Visitors Centre, Beacon Lane, Dalton, Upholland, Lancs. WN8 7RU. SD505066. WC and Cafe available TBC Walk will head out along the golf course to Ashurst Beacon dropping down through Dalton Lees before turning West to Round 'O' Quarry. Head north through woods down to Newburgh and onto the Leeds Liverpool canal and east to Parbold heading towards Appley Bridge. Half way along the canal we head north up to the top of Parbold Hill for fantastic views over Lancashire plain. From there we cross the busy A5209 to High Moor before about turning to head back down to Parbold then back up passed a disused quarry to Hunters Hill (more great views). We then make our way up Harrick Hill past the old windmill before zig zagging down to and through Fairy Glen to Apply Bridge and back over the canal and across to Matin's Farm (no relation). We will then head back up to Stone Hall before dropping slightly to Roby Mill, Walthew Green along Whitley Road onto Lafford Lane, up to St Josephs College and back to the Beacon Country Park.
