This is a linear walk from Durham Cathedral to Castleside. Park in Castleside at the Village Hall, post code DH8 9RE, grid reference NZ082487. An organised bus will leave Castleside at 8:00am taking us to central Durham for a 9:00am start at the main entrance to the Cathedral. The bus will be payed for by Northumbria LDWA. So the walk actually starts at Durham Cathedral main entrance. We then walk back to Castleside to our cars using the Northern Saints Trail, the Way of Light. Jim Arden will lead us on this 1st section of our Pilgrimage of Light

General Notes
1st part of the Durham Cathedral to Holy Island Pilgrimage. Dawn 6:18am, Dusk 6:08pm. If you are wanting to do this walk could you please notify myself by email or text using the details below. Can you please also state whether you will be using the organised bus from Castleside to Durham, as some people may be planning their own transport to do this linear walk. The deadline for notifying is by the end of January 2022. This is all of course, Covid-19 rules and guidance dependent , but we can only but try
