Milnthorpe Cricket Pavilion, Park Road, LA7 7QR

Located in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this undulating (approximate) 18 mile route is eminently runnable and a perfect introduction to distance trail running or walking. It doesn't have any major climbs, but this circular route does include varied trails, takes in many of the local attractions, including the Fairy Steps and Arnside Knott, but also adds some new sections such as Arnside Tower and the stunning Quakers Stang. The route incorporates many aspects from the Silverdale Circuit, but most are done in reverse so it works as a standalone event or in addition to the existing route. It is incredible how different the route feels by going the other way and if anything this one seems to flow more naturally and is arguably easier to navigate

Please note that we will have a mandatory kit list of: full body waterproof cover, emergency food, minimum 500ml of fluid, whistle, head-torch, map & compass (and know how to use them) as this a self navigated route. Please also bring a reusable cup. We are currently able to continue with outdoor sporting events and will go ahead with this one unless the guidance changes in such a way that we are then unable to proceed. The Dawdle was organised safely and successfully in September with a host of very happy participants. We will introduce a number of additional controls to ensure that this event complies with Covid-safe guidelines, keeping both volunteers and participants as safe as possible throughout. These will be communicated in detail to all participants via e-mail nearer to the event
