Due to Coronavirus.
Regrettably, we have taken the decision to cancel this event. This was not taken lightly.
The event involves many helpers (several over 70 years of age) and passes through many local communities, it also requires access to Scalby Village Hall.
Under the current circumstances we cannot safely operate checkpoints with food and water; it is not acceptable for large numbers of walkers to pass through these communities and finally, if any walkers retire from the event transporting them back to base whilst maintaining social distancing would be tricky.
Weighing up these points, and the need to decide now, has led us to the conclusion that the event should be cancelled.
We appreciate that will be a disappointment to everyone, but I am sure you can understand the reason why we have come to this conclusion.

LDWA is run entirely by volunteers and we work hard to keep costs as low as possible. But costs are always rising so to help us avoid big increases in our modest membership fee, additional donations are always welcomed. Anyone who feels that LDWA has gone the extra mile to provide exceptional service is particularly encouraged to use this facility.
