A walk littered with castles, abbeys and priories. Entrants walk through the historic town of Chepstow passing the Norman Castle and the Bulwark Iron Age Camp following the Wales Coast Path before turning inland to climb Gray Hill and enter the ancient forest of Wentwood. The nature reserve at Coed-Cwnwr is then visited on route to the picturesque Roman town of Usk. Following the River Usk the next section takes entrants to Abergavenny prior to walking over the shoulder of Sugar Loaf to reach Cwmyoy, a village known for its leaning church, sited on the Cistercian Way. Continuing through the Vale of Ewyas, Y 100 Sir Fynwy visits the ruins of Llanthony Priory & Darren Ridge before descending to the breakfast stop at Longtown. Offa's Dyke Path is followed to White Castle, Monmouth, The Kymin and Redbrook and an undulating route takes entrants to the final checkpoint at Tintern in the shadow of the magnificent Tintern Abbey, leading in turn to the final section back to Chepstow
