The Ulfkil Stride was for many years the West Yorkshire Group premier challenge event over the fells of upper Wharfedale. With all that is going on in the world at the moment the West Yorkshire LDWA Group have resurrected this challenge as an Anytime Challenge.
The route takes you from Buckden to Cray, following the footpath to Yockenthwaite, climbing Horse Head Pass to Halton Gill and Foxup, then skirting the foot of Plover Hill, then to the summit of Pen-y-Ghent, follow the Pennine Way to Dale Head, then take Dawson Close to Litton, followed by a steep climb over Birks Fell back to Buckden.
Keeping to the Government’s COVID guidelines, entrants can participate at any time of their choosing between 23rd April 2021 and 23rd July 2021.
The event is entirely unsupported, so there are no refreshments provided and no marshals on the route.
When choosing the date to take on the challenge, you are reminded to take adequate layers. Runners are welcome but remember this is not a race.

Please note this is an entirely different event to the Ulfkil Stride Open Challenge.

The route description, questionnaire and GPX file will be emailed out from the 22nd April 2021.

The event is open to LDWA members only to comply with insurance requirements.
To join the LDWA for a nominal fee of £15.00 please register at www.ldwa.org.uk

Please take all rubbish home to be disposed of.

Entrants who complete the event can edit their entry in SiEntries and input the date completed and time taken. A certificate will then be produced and emailed to them.
The optional West Yorkshire LDWA buff will be posted out two weeks after the completion of the event.
