Plod, 2018

The 2018 annual Pudding Plod started at 9am on Saturday 15th December from the car park of the Calf’s Head at Worston.  In freezing temperatures 28 of our members donned their walking gear, many also in Christmas jumpers and hats, for the six mile walk back to the Calf’s Head.

We went towards Little Mearley Hall and passed through Angram Green.  Skirting the bottom of Pendle Hill we passed Hookcliffe and Clay House before arriving at the beautiful village of Downham.

In the picnic area there, John E and Susan were waiting for us with mince pies along with Stan and Shirley and Christmas cheer which was enjoyed by all.   We then made our way back past Worsaw End to the Calf’s Head where we were joined by a further fifteen people making a total of 43 members and guests.

At the Calf’s Head everyone enjoyed an excellent meal and pleasant company.  John E concluded with a few words of thanks and he also read out a card from Pauline who was unable to attend but sent her best wishes to everyone.

Thanks to all those who took part, particularly those who provided the refreshments at Downham.  A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our members and friends.
