FISH AND CHIP WALK

Fish and Chip Walk - Wednesday 24th. July 13

This is awalk Kate and Mike have put on for a few years now, from their home in Eccleston. The format is usually the same. Namely a non too stressful 5 or 6 mile walk to a suitable hostelry, followed by a stop at a fish and chip shop, then a 2 to 3 mile walk back to Eccleston and, if the occasion demands, further refreshments.

                                                                                                                                      'Start of walk,

Today's walk took us to Croston and the hostelry was The Black Horse. The beer as always was excellent as were the fish and chips from just down the road. The latter were helped down by red wine kindly provided by Kate and Mike and the atmosphere was jovial on this pleasant, warm summer evening.

Fed and watered we made our way out of the picturesque village of Croston then through the fields back to Eccleston.

                                                                                                                                  'Behave yourself Dave!'

The field walk was obviously thirsty work and left several of our members with little alternative other than to slake their thirst with more excellent ale in 'The Farmer's Arms'.

                                                                                                                              'At the 'Farmer's in Eccleston'.

Thanks to Kate and Mike for a very enjoyable social evening walk.
