SAWLEY BROW

                                 Tuesday 25th June 2013  - Sawley Brow

11 people and 4 dogs set of at 10 a.m. for a 10 mile walk. The weather was very good with the sun coming through the broken cloud now and again, heading across the fields to the village of Rimington, very nice property here, then past some very old silver mines, which Dave explained all about them.

Very good views across the valley with Pendle Hill always in the background. Past the Quaker memorial at Clough Head onto Rimington Moor eventually coming to Firber House (ruin) for lunch stop.

Then turning back across the moor, past Tory Log Clough, Howgill, Gazegill and Great Dudland across the Blackburn to Hellifield Railway line, back to the cars 9.8 miles approx.

Thanks Dave for a very interesting walk (Pity about the 30 odd stiles especially for the dogs!)
