Walk Information

For current details of our walking program, please refer to the the Future Events dropdown list on the LDWA Irregulars website, or via the link below.

All walks will start promptly at 8am unless specifically noted within the walk details. Thursday walks are usually shorter with a later start noted.

  • A short coffee stop is made around 10am, so bring a flask & a snack.  A longer lunch stop around 1pm, is normally arranged in a pub, when drinks, alcoholic or tea/coffee and light bar meals e.g. soup, chips, sandwiches, can be purchased.  Where this cannot be arranged a note will be included in the walk details and a packed lunch ought to be brought with you.
  • During the winter period, it is hoped that all walks will be completed before darkness descends, however it is advisable to carry a torch, just in case.
  • It is not necessary to book onto a walk unless stated - e.g. when transport is being arranged for a linear walk. Any enquiries about a walk should be made through the walk leader (where a contact number is given), or the Walks Co-ordinator. Guest walkers are always welcome.
  • If you are delayed getting to the start or have decided not to attend a pre-booked walk, please telephone the walk leader and let them know, as there may be someone waiting for you, so you catch up with the rest of the walkers.
  • Where a series of walks Fri/Sat/Sun implies a weekend away, it is normally up to attenders to book their own accommodation. Please enlist with the walk organiser, as there may be an evening meal option and other advice available. Day trippers are also welcome on any such walks.
