We are pleased to announce that, with NEC approval, we are opening entries for our annual Oxon 20/40 event, run this year of course as an 'Anytime Event' that you  can undertake in legally permitted groups from next Monday onwards until 28 June. Entries close 30 May. The primary start is at Stokenchurch but you can also start at Cowleaze Wood or anywhere else on the route, which as usual, is a new one, this time through Ewelme and Russells Water, mainly in the Chilterns. There are 20, 32 and 40 mile options. While the event is unfortunately unsupported, there are shops on the 40 route and all routes pass the Barn Cafe, which is now open by reservation (even for coffee) on Thursdays to Sundays.

You can now enter this Members Only event (cost £5) at:

https://www.sientries.co.uk/admin/events/event_summary.php?event_id=7844

where after paying, you can download route descriptions and gpx files. Certificates are available on completion.

Anyone considering doing the Virtual Hundred can note that if you undertake this event in the May Bank holiday weekend, and combine it with a previous Oxon 40 and Oxon 20 from Stokenchurch (route descriptions at https://ldwa.org.uk/ThamesValley/W/5104/route-descriptions.html ), you will have your 100 route.

Bluebells are already appearing so it would be best to do the walk before the second week of May

Also, a reminder to register with Graham for our first social walk this Sunday from Cadmore End. This will be in 'rule of six' groups but we are soliciting views from leaders and walkers on what group size you would like to see going forward as government restrictions are eased. Comments gratefully received by reply to this email.
