Thames Valley LDWA

As part of the LDWAs 'Big Walk' for the organisations 50th anniversary, can I remind you of these events TV LDWA is holding:

SUN 19 JUNE : 50TH ANNIVERSARY WALKS.  50 km (31 mls) or 25km (16.2mls) . Meet 0800 or 0900 respectively at Henley Mill Lane Car Park. No registration necessary. Bring your own lunch as usual. The 50km walk will be a loop to Stokenchurch and back, joining the two venues of the Oxon 40 challenge walk and will be at a pace of 3.1mph. The 25Km walk will be at a gentler pace.

We have decided it will be too difficult to coordinate these two groups to form any type of social event afterwards, so instead we are holding:

SUN 3 JULY :  50TH ANNIVERSARY CREAM TEA WALK. NOTE REGISTRATION DETAILS. . Starts at West Wycombe NT Car Park at top of hill, up narrow lane; turn v sharply right past school as you leave the A40. This will be a relaxed 17 mile walk but there should be an option to cut out 2mls of this if anyone wants to (waiting then for the rest of us at the Red Lion) . Cream Tea around 3pm at Red Lion, Bradenham, cost (subsidised from Oxon 40 surpluses) : £3 to be paid to a committee member at any June walk or contact tv.treasurer@ldwa.org.uk

to arrange bank transfer BEFORE 30 JUNE. Limit for Cream Tea is 33 but you may still attend the walk if this is exceeded or you do not wish to have the Cream Tea. Return to cars afterwards.

see Thames Valley LDWA - Programme for more details including for the start points and leaders.

We have received this from the NEC

As we are approaching the weekend of the Big Walk, in celebration of the LDWA’s 50th Anniversary, I’d like to wish you all good luck with the events you are holding. Across the local groups we have a full and varied programme of activities which include several 50 mile events (with built in shorter options), a dawn to dusk walk in North Wales, many day long social walks (again, with shorter options for those who don’t want to do big mileage) and lots of celebration lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals.

So the aim is to get as many members out as possible. So we hope to see you at at least one of these events
